Our Values

We at Anxiety Specialists of St. Louis are guided by values that inform who we are as a team and how we present to our communities. We hire staff who bring these values to life.

Providing evidence-based care: Delivering the highest quality care to our clients is central to our mission. To us, this means staying up to date with innovations and best practices in  mutliculturally competent, evidence-based treatment for anxiety and OCD and delivering exposure with sensitivity and creativity.

Professional development:  We believe that to provide high quality care, therapists need opportunities to think, read, and grow professionally. This value is promoted by weekly consultation meetings, attendance at conferences, formal and informal peer supervision, and discussion of books, articles, and new ideas at monthly “lunch and learn” meetings. This also means clients can feel confident knowing their therapist is always growing in their skills.

Workplace Culture: We’re committed to providing a warm and supportive atmosphere for our clients and our team. We’ve designed our physical space to be comfortable and welcoming for clients, as well as therapists. We also promote a friendly, collaborative, and supportive environment for therapists to work in, with regular check ins and time for consultation.

Supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion: We are affirming therapists and engage in ongoing therapist and practice-wide self-assessment, education, and training around cultural competency and anti-racism. We support people identifying as LGBTQ+ and work hard to provide a safe space for everyone. We are especially interested in hiring clinicians with diverse identities, cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences to better serve the unique experience of our clients.
