My training background and therapy approaches include:
I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2022 from the University of Mississippi. I completed my predoctoral internship, postdoctoral fellowship, and early career at VA Medical Centers in Chicago, San Diego, and St. Louis until joining Anxiety Specialists of St. Louis. I specialize in anxiety-related disorders, OCD, and women’s health. My approach to therapy primarily includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure-based techniques (including exposure and response prevention or ERP), mindfulness and acceptance.
How I help:
Anxiety can feel overwhelming, out-of-control, and have a cascading effect on our lives. My style is personable, supportive, structured yet flexible. I aim to meet my clients where they are and start by working collaboratively to identify the thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that may be contributing to the persistence of anxiety. Together, we will develop a step-by-step treatment plan that includes in-session practices and daily homework practice designed to reduce distress and build confidence. Over time, my hope is that my clients will gain the tools and insight they need to become their own expert in managing their anxiety in order to achieve lasting, meaningful change and live the life they want to live.
More about me:
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, going for walks, reading or listening to audiobooks, and going out for sushi (trying every roll I can).
