My Training Background and Therapy Approaches Include
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas and my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Louis University.
Since graduate school, I have spent the majority of my career working at a nonprofit with children, adolescents, and young adults between the ages of 6 and 20. During this time, I have worked with clients experiencing a wide variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, autism, neurodivergence, and family conflict.
My background in family therapy allows me to take a systemic approach to therapy, meaning I consider the relationships, environments, and experiences that influence each person’s life. I believe that understanding the bigger picture can help us better understand what you are experiencing and what you need.
I strive to meet clients where they are and take a strengths-based approach to therapy. Rather than focusing only on what feels difficult or needs to change, I also want to help you recognize the strengths, skills, and resilience you already have and build upon them.
How I Help
As a therapist, I strive to be approachable, laid-back, and caring while also gently challenging you in ways that support meaningful growth and change. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, ask questions, work through difficult emotions, and feel comfortable being yourself.
Clients can expect to feel seen, heard, and genuinely understood in our sessions. Together, we will explore the challenges you are facing while also identifying your strengths and the things that matter most to you. Through our work together, I can help you gain clarity around your goals, develop practical coping strategies, navigate anxious or overwhelming thoughts, and build confidence in yourself and your ability to handle life’s challenges.
More About Me
Outside of therapy, I love to travel, hike, and run. I’m a foodie and always looking for new restaurants to try! I also enjoy spending time with my two dogs and making memories with my friends and family.
